Indy gun safety is proud to announce the addition of "Shock-Trauma", an intense 4 hour
course in first aid with a special focus on traumatic injuries.

What you will learn:

Scene Safety
Use of Universal Precautions (Keeping the goo off of you!)
Basic anatomy and physiology
Recognition and treatment of:

Gunshot wounds
Shock
Impaled objects
Sucking chest wounds & tension pneumothorax
Bleeding & wound care
Abdominal evisceration
Fractures, sprains & strains
Head injuries
Burns
Poisoning
Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis)
How to build a simple first aid kit
And more!

You will also learn to use a fire extinguisher and put out a REAL fire! (Not just a coffee
can will rubbing alcohol in it either!)

Students will be given a power point presentation as a text book prior to the course.
You can go through the presentation as many times as you want, but one good study
session prior to the course is all you will need.

Meet Your Instructor:
Randall DeWitt was a National Registry Paramedic
(NREMTP) for over a decade and was licensed at the EMT-P
level in Michigan, Texas, North Carolina, and Oklahoma.

Mr. DeWitt trained paramedics and firefighters for the North
Carolina community college system for 7 years. He was also
a staff Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor at
Presbyterian Hospital's Hemby Children's Hospital in
Charlotte, NC for 5 years.
